Hello and Welcome to Fountain of Life Ministries. My name is Kevin Johnson, Senior Pastor and this is my lovely wife, Amy. Amy and I have deep ties to our local communities throughout Horry County with both of us being born and raised in South Carolina. We work as a team in ministry fulfilling a prophecy given to us almost 20 years ago. My Mom and Dad believed in taking my brother and I to church every Sunday. Both parents were pillars of their local Baptist Church leading singing and playing the piano. Seeing that commitment in my parents was vital to my life as an adult and taught me about commitment to the church but strengthened my commitment to Jesus, the Head of the Church. Amy came from a similar background with family ties to farming and industry. She received Jesus at an early age but wandered off later in life. Not knowing that God was with her, she survived many battles which strengthened her belief and calling in God. Amy’s first encounter with the power of Jesus was during the Charismatic Movement when it came through her hometown of Loris, S.C.
Amy and I are the proud parents of two great sons, Lynn Thompson, and Kyle Johnson, who live and work locally in our area. I received the call to ministry in my mid 30’s but never thought I would actually be a Pastor. I spent 16 years at Fountain of Life Ministries under the leadership of my spiritual father, Dr. Jerry Howell. He was instrumental in my spiritual development and encouraged me in the call to ministry. At his passing, Dr. Jerry Howell appointed me as Senior Pastor to the church he and his wife, Martha Howell founded. This has truly been an honor and great responsibility to carry on what they began. It is my hope to one day afford a spiritual son and daughter the same opportunity to carry on this same honor and responsibility to the next generation of believers.
I have a bachelor’s degree in theology and am pursuing my Master’s in Sacred Studies but nothing takes the place of experiencing the presence of God in such a unique and personal way. Our hearts are to pursue the presence of God leading His people into a divine encounter with Him, the One that can change it all. Everyone has a unique story, and everyone has a unique calling, mission and destiny. Our goal is to help those in search of their purpose, their calling, their destiny, find it by helping them have a life altering encounter with Jesus.
Without Jesus, we can do nothing. With Him, we can do all things!
